I am taking delivery of a new Prado on Friday, after a long wait.

It is a long W/E here in WA so I am planning to do the trip Perth - Meekatharra - Wiluna - Kalgoorlie - Perth over the 3 days.

I have done the Perth - Meekatharra and Kalgoorlie - Perth legs a few times but not the Goldfields Highway section.

Is there anything in particular I should see?

The highway north of Kalgoorlie is boring bituman.

Just north of Menzies jump into Kookynie, camp at Niagara Dam.

At Menzies turn west and head out to the Mt Jackson Road. Camp at Trough Well. Check it on Places on this site. Great spot. After Trough Well you will head south and come out at Westonia.

Then you can get back onto the Gt Eastern Hwy and head home.
I'm glad I ain't too scared to be lazy

If you take it that is I used to go that way a fir bit for work at leinster and would alternate between taking the golden Quest discovery trail broad arrow/ora banda Siberia /Ularing to Leonora to the Wst of the highway and travelling East of the highway along Yarri road past Gindalbie sometimes along Pianto road to check out the Goongarie NP and other times continuing on to Kookynie
