Hi,
My daughter and I are driving from Perth WA to Taree NSW in June this year.
We are looking to hire a caravan/camper from a place that does 'one way hire'.
Anyone know a company who may do this?
I have searched on web and not been too successful to date!
Any advice appreciated.
Trish

Hi Trish,

Try this site, these guys quite often have campers/cars etc that they want returned to place of origin or where they want it next. If your not worried about taking your time (they give you a reasonable amount of time) they also give you a fuel allowance.

Let me know how you go

Thankyou Bentaxle but my daughter has car over there that she wants to keep for a while. Otherwise she would be in a wicked camper - she even wanted to buy ex wicked!!

try complete campsite campers. they manufacture in NSW ( Gosford) and have sales and hire in Mandura WA.

whoops - you're right, Hit the Track only hire out their gear. But as they are in Gosford, perhaps the Mandurah mob and these guys can work out a one-way deal??

Thanks guys for that info. Have been on the phone to NSW and sent an email to WA. Waiting to here from them. They don't do 'one-way' as such but Christine in NSW said WA may have an option as they get there new trailers shipped over to WA from NSW and may be able to give me a price/cost for its return to WA.

Evren1 would it be worth setting up a camper for just one night or would it be a pain in the a...!

Watson,

we are pretty efficient at setting up our camper now so overnight stays don't bother us . they are really easy to set up and pack away with a few practice runs you should have no problems. The kitchen access at the back is also very handy as it requires little effort to prepare a meal on the side of the road if need be!

cheers,

Evan

Thanks to all for you replies.
I think we have exhausted all possibilities.
I am flying across from Taree NSW to keep my daughter company on her trip back to the east side after living and working in WA (mining - truck driver) for the last 18 months.
My husband and I are caravanners and I thought it would be a good idea and nice experience for Courtney (daughter) and we would find more interesting places to stay than motels etc on our way across.
We will still have an interesting and enjoyable trip.
Looking forward to it!
Steve and I will sign up for membership of ExporOz as I have many times accessed info on forums from this site. Always informative and interesting.
Thanks again for your information and advice.
