I recall reading in 4x4 a new Challenger was due out mid this year does anyone have any updates?

Am looking to upgrade from x -trail and would be interested given my brother in law's experience with his Triton

I believe that overseas its going to be called a Pajero Sport, its essentially the same shape size etc as the Paj and built on the same platform too.

If you google Pajero there is a web site that will show photos of the new Paj Sports as it will be called - due out next year - looks similar to current Challenger.

"current challenger"? I assume you mean the one they stopped selling a couple of years back.

From memeory I think the new Challenger will be a Stationwagon version of the triton.

As far as I know, there are no plans to release the so called Paj Challenger in Aust, which as I own one of the last released here I think is a shame, the vehicle in the picture is to be released in Russia, with the intercooler-turbocharged 4M41-type 3.2-liter diesel unit using common rail direct injection system, or the 3.5ltr V6 Petrol that was in the earlier Pajero's.

It comes with a 4-speed Sport Mode automatic transmission or a 5-speed manual gearbox, which I think is a shame as the Pajero 5 speed Tip-Tronic Auto is an awsome gearbox. It will also be available with an optional rear differential lock as is the latest Triton in Australia. The other main departure from the last of the Challengers here is it will have coils up front.

Personally I believe it's a shame that Mitsi Aust believe the Outlander will fill the void left by the Challenger's departure.

Tch Tch Tch Pesty,

Why in the world would we want to trade to a rough riding, uncomfortable Yota, hell even you would have to admit, I would have to find an old 60 or an 80 series to get anything half decent, please dont tell me you class buying a 200 series as an upgrade.. LOL

Upgrade from a Lada Niva maybe... Only reason there are only five comments is Challenger owners are a content lot..

Also maybe you should look and see what won the Condo 750 in stock form.. LOL actually a vehicle from the wreckers (ex roll over)

Next thing you will be telling me to get a 3ltr Neeeessan LMAO

Cheers Bloke

PS did you get my message?

I have been waiting with baited breath for the release of the new 'challenger'.
I have an 01 model now, and as much as I love it - I know that it will wear out in about 20 years time..lol.

I have a 2003 Challenger and have been contemplating what the Triton may be like by the time I need to upgrade the Challenger. Touch wood, it won't be for a long time. For an earlier poster, mine is limited to 2250 kg towing and 225 ball weight.
Cheers
