Looking for travelling companions Cape York August

We're planning to 'do' the Cape in the first 2 weeks of August. Never been there before. Have done plenty of off-roading, Simpson, and all the SA tracks, mostly solo, but from what we read and hear the Cape should ideally be travelled in company.
If there are any other solo trekkers looking to that direction maybe we can team up, or are we likely to meet other like minded travellers at Cooktown?

Smudger, we are leaving Mt Carbine on 5th August to head to Cooktown via Bloomfield Track, so possibly we'll see you on the track somewhere.

We wlil be in a convoy of 4 vehicles, two with camper trailers.

I doubt that you'll be alone with the amount of traffic that I believe travels that way.

Check out the forum on Capeyorker.com

You won't have a problem - we went up the old telegrahp track June last year - busy as Flinders street station.

The Cape is just as easily done solo. No need to hook up unless you like the company :-). You will pass many a person doing the same thing this time of year. Cheers Tony
