Sir Kev & Darkie
I found a simple, quick recipe that only uses 3 ingredients the other day and tried it yesterday to see how it would turn out.
It was a mixed fruit cake.
2 Cups of SR Flour,
2 Cups of Dried Mixed Fruit, and
1 x Tin of Sweentend Condensed Milk
Combine all ingredients and put in a pre heated
camp oven.
Cook for about 20 mins. It turned out pretty
well and will definately try it again.
What are other minimal ingredient
recipes that people use when out and about, in their
camp ovens??
Cheers Kev

ok, 4 ingredients
1 or 2 onions chopped
1 can chopped tomatoes
1 can baked beans
sausages
fry sausages, then chop them up, put onions in the
camp oven for a minute or 3 then throw sausages and tinned stuff in the oven and warm through.
a good hearty meal that'll bring music to your underpants

Kev,
My limit of gourmet cooking in a
camp oven is as follows
Take one leg of lamb
heaps of spuds
heaps of carrots
maybe an onion or 2
Place all ingredients on the
camp oven trivet, let sit on the coals for 1.5 to 3 hours depending on how hot the coals are and how big the leg is.
And the most important part of my gourmet roast. And this step can not be missed under any circumstance.
Go to fridge, grab a couple of beers, bourbons, bundys or whatever with a small bag of ice to put in the
camp chair cooler and sit and watch the dinner
cook.
