Can anyone tell me if our dollar coin is still at the base of the Cape York sign on the tip? We glued it with araldite at the base of the sign exactly 12 months ago and we have a wager on whether it would last there longer than 12 months.

Gday Noel,
I haven't been up to the tip but my guess is that its not there any more. Like the signs at the Mitchell Falls turn off from the Kalumbaru rd that were there last year are gone this year. Other signs and plaques that were along the CSR that people souvenir, all gone.
Some people have no respect for signs or any other things that are of value that are placed along tracks and vantage points for people to see and read.
I hope im wrong in regards to your coin.
Cheers.

Noel

Someone with a very good Garmin GPS would navigate his way right to the $ coin.

Hey Doug....... I'll give your Nuvi, Nuvvi or what ever that old thing you've got is called a clue, the co-ordinates are 1.8m above the coin. If you you can pin point that then we should be able to see the coin, provided you've topped the old Nuvvi up with kero that is! The world is waiting........

Can't let a good opertunity pass me by Doug, LOL

Can I ask why you mentioned an Acer Laptop, seeing as most Computer Techs class them in the bottom of the quality models for laptops over the past 3 years.

I have been reading some of you're posts lately just to try and understand who I am comunicating with, and have been taking lessooons offf ewe.

"How dare people question the accruacy (accuracy) of my tracks recorded with my Garmins (Garmin's) , I have some demo tracks from a Garmin Quest while mounted in a Tractor"

What's the old saying, don't throw stones in a glass house... LOL

And yes I know what's should be what is and don't should be do not, but most people on here do not correct others for typo's for all you know I could be like our old friend Des Lexic, maybe you should think before attacking peoples mistakes, I simply asked why you chose an Acer, but never mind, it was probably for the spell checker!!!

Hoel, hope it all goes well for you setting it up, if I'm reading between the lines correctly. Let us all know what the secret software is when you have it running, I'm always happy to try something different.

Cheers

My son and his mate araldited a $1 coin to the steps in one of the stairwells of the Spirit of Tasmania..... sat watching and had a lot of fun.

No one had managed to get it off... even with a pocketknife before we landed.

Gone now 'cause that was the old Spirit....

On a similar note. I used to be Head Teacher at Warragul West Primary School.
In the grate at the base of the steps was a 5c coin. This would be around 1987.
I used to take an assembly with the children each morning... all 28 of them.
I checked each day for a full term to see if it was worth the effort for some child to get to that coin.

On the last day of term, I got a bit of wire and got the sucker! It WAS worth it to me.

I was in a male toilets and noticed a 5c piece in the trough. When I left a mate of mine who is pretty tight with his money went into the toilets. After I asked him if he noticed the 5c piece - he did but said it was not worth diving into a latrine trough for just 5c so he had to chuck in a $2 coin as well.
