Hi all, we're just back from a week's WA eastern goldfields trip following the
Cave Hill ExplorOz trek and Eqinox's Widgie to Eyre Hwy user trek.
Thanks to all for the resources. Plus we followed some other notes out of Nic Underwood's Eastern Goldfields tours book.
Conditions were great apart from being thunderstormed off one track.
Woodlands were absolutely delightful and tracks were mostly good, but with some serious rutting in
places on the W to EH option nr at the highway end.
Also the 7km spur to
Moochabinna Rock on Equinox's plot was pretty scratchy and probably not worth the effort, given
the rock is not partic. impressive.
For anyone not familiar with these
Great Western Woodlands and who might be interested, there is a great reference available at
http://www.wilderness.org.au/campaigns/great-western-woodland/files/the-great-western-woodlands-report.pdf.
Cheers.
