For anyone thinking of heading into Central Australia, the weather might have the final say. There's even a report that the Stuart Highway has been partially closed. LINK

The sun is even shining (sort of) here in Palmerston (just outside Darwin in case you didn't know where Palmerston is... lol), and it's stopped raining (for now... lol..)

Many years ago I was in the driveway packing the car when my neighbour, an experienced bush traveller, came out.

"Where do you think you are going this time?" he asked.

My reply was "We hope to get to the western deserts of Victoria."

"'Bit of rain down that way, could change your plans he said."

The western deserts of Victoria was our third choice for a holiday. The previous two had been crossed off due to flooding.

The weather always has and always will influence our travel plans. We should never take it for granted.

A bit of rain in the drier parts of the country, that's gotta be good.
