Can any one tell me why the recieved date in outlook is different to the actual reply date.
eg. I recieved (in outlook) an almost immediate follow-up reply to a post which shows the recieved time as yesterday.... 3.03pm and 1/10/2003.

Explore-Oz shows the actual time of the reply as 8.01am this morning 2/10/2003.(this is about right)

The time and date on my computer are correct.

Why is outlook wrong???Wow! am I cute

could be the location/time zone settings of the hosting server/auto mailer causing this??
ie when the reply is posted, it grabs the time settings of the terminal doing the posting, yet the automailer generating the emails grabs the date/time of the machine its running on?

this is just one thought I had as to the reasons behind the difference in time

G'day Richard,

The reply above from Sam is probably 100% spot on.

I worked with international time zones most of my working life and "think" in other times.

You will find that 0803 Eastern States time in Oz equates to 1503 [3 minutes past 3 P.M.] in sunny downtown Los Angeles which is probably where the originating server resides.

Hope this helps

Richard,

Send me a forward of the email you received I can check the headers and find out what the email indicates and then advise you of the result. Our servers are located in sunny QLD and mostly they are setup to USA defaults (this is just what the ISP does). However I remap all dates and time on the system. You will notice in your replies that I also send in the msg body the date/time of the reply.

Anyway I will see what I can see if you forward it to me.Regards

Hey Richard,
This has nothing to do with computers.

Saw up to 20 big goats high up on the range at Warraweena and figured out what they were up to. They live around the top of the range and come down in the late afternoon to drink from the little springs that drip out of the watertable.

Now all you have to do is to get up there and wait!!!

Cheers
