Tow Bar vs Hayman Reece

If it is rated at over 1500kg and in reasonable condition why change?

Unless you have different tow couplings for different uses and need to change them often then the HR style neck/hitch would suit you well for it's ease of removal/fitting via it's single pin as opposed to heavy bolts of the std bar.

If not why change?

Just be sure your standard tow bar rating suits the trailer weight with a reasonable margin to spare.

Whats that saying ? "if it aint broke" , HaymanReece is a "brand" not just a style of tow bar , some earlier Nissan patrols had a factory towbar where the male 2" insert required had a taper from 2" to 1+7/8" ,try fitting a standrd 2" to one of them and its almost impossible to remove once you have it inserted, and no ,its not part of Friday Funnies.

Not sure if you mean you have the flat connection rather than the tubular towball holder/connector. (Not sure what the correct terminology is)
I don't think I would want to be towing 1500kg with the flat type.
Also are you asking whether you need a HR type (tubular) towbar or the HR Weight Distribution set up. It would probably be touch and go whether you need it for 1500kg with a troopy, but would always prefer to have one myself.

Makes sense Paul. You would need to check but from my (limited) understanding that type of towbar would be unlikely to be rated to pull 1500kg.
