We are looking to replace the original foam mattress that came with our Cub camper.

Just wandering through an Ikea store in Richmond (Melb) today and discovered in their bedding section a queen size inner spring mattress (165mm) with a 25 year guarantee for the sum of $179.

It was made in China but certainly felt comfy to us after we gave it the lay down test.

We have had a couple of quotes from another supplier for the same sort of thing and there prices were $420 - $520 for their top models.

Has anyone purchased one of these units and can provide feedback ?

We thought with a guarantee like that and for such a low price how could we go wrong ?

True Blue.

I did't buy one, but I got a $250 cheapie from the local bed shop. Is 200mm tall and JUST fits in but has a nice puffy pillow top on it. But gee whiz its better than the foam job. As its not your everyday bed you will be surprised how long it will last.

Best thing you will do, some will say you have to go with a 'proper CT' one...... I say why when the store one fits and its comfortable

My partner and I have been travelling in our camper trailer since June 09 and we replaced the brand new foam mattress that came with the campertop with an innerspring $200 one from Fantastic Furniture. My partner has a bad back so we needed something decent, and it has been great. We also have an eggshell overlay which we wouldn't part with for all the gold in Oz!

Thanks Dave and Shaz.

We decided to buy the mattress from Ikea after measuring up the old one and deciding that the new one would fit OK.

Slightly (4cm) longer and a little (3cm) higher but had no trouble closing up the camper with it installed.

SWMBO is very happy so it's all good. We checked the online catalogue for this particular item and found that it was new for 2010 and is normally $299.
It was reduced for it's current sale so for once we were in the right place at the right time. It feels fantastic plus we still have the eggshell overlay from our previous setup if we feel it needs it after it settles after a few sleeps.

Our original foam mattress from Cub was just OK from the start but was remaining compressed after a couple of nights in succession. Cub charge $420 +
for their inner spring mattress replacement so needless to say we are very happy with our purchase.

I have absolutely no connection with Ikea but the stores sale on these items will continue until the 14th March if anyone is interested in a bargain.

cheers, Wayne

Hi, We recently replaced our 3 foam mattresses in the Ultimate with 2 inner spring mattresses from Made to Measure Mattress. Delivered to the dooor from QLD and we have the best nights sleep now. No sore spots, all the support I need for a "crook back" and a great sleep. Our previous camper we just put a cheapish innerspring in to replace the foam mattress, it was ok but not as good as what we have now. Can't recommend MMM enough.

Happy sleeping
