Sorry how long is a piece of string lol. The country hasn't seen this much rain for so long don't think mother nature is finished yet. Those roads are used by the oil trucks so I would imagine they will be working pretty quick to fix them once the water has gone. I reckon it will be right by July. Will be a fantastic trip.

Hi NicnPete
My son has been working in the Cooper Basin and now in Injune Qld.
All surveying work in that area has been put on hold for 3 months and they are sending the surveyors to Darwin. Working on the 3 month closure of Moomba, it may be open for when you are heading away providing that the rain up there does not keep up.

We will all have to see what is going to happen, as a lot of people that are heading that way as well as the Simpson may have to make other holiday plans until later in the season.

It is going to be a big wait and see to see just how long this rain keeps up.

Cheers

Have to admit, as the time draws closer the excitement is growing, it is actually becoming a reality. We have been plannig this for so long that it seemed like we were just going through the motions of set up, route planning etc without anything actually going to happen. But all of a sudden we are only 3 and a half months away from it (3 pay days lol) and i am starting to question whether i have planned enough lol. We may cross paths as it sounds like we will be heading in the opposite direction to you from Uluru. Hope to see you out there.

Why worry, your going away in July, if you were going away in a weeks time I would say your concerns are warranted.

July is four months away!

Theres no harm in getting as much info as possible before we leave.. It may be ok, it may be not.. We'll just have to wait and see..
