Data Needed for CSR Plot

Hi Guys

As we are planning to drive up the Canning in the 2 weeks following the gathering I am trying to put together a plot of the CSR.

There is good information already on this site, but it has the Canning in 70 seperate short sections which is not suitable for most GPS'es.
I could use this data, but it would be a lot of cut & pasting & joining and prone to error.

So searching for either a whole plot on even large sections to work with.

(Will have computer at Exploroz Victorian camp this weekend)

Robin, if you hit the download trek button on this site's CSR treknote you'll get the full plot as one file incl the waypts. At least I did.

Cheers.

Hi John

Yes you can download as one file , but that file consists of 70 seperate tracks , which would have to be joined.

Peter has sent me a file which is continuous, so I have something much easier to work with now.

Hi Robin,

Yes John is right.
If you click into the Canning Stock Route trek note, and click the link that says "Download Trek", you will get the choice of downloading a .gpx file or a zip file containing both an OziExplorer .wpt and .plt file. If you kept the default radio button and downloaded the .gpx file, importing this into OziExplorer will create individual plot sections as you mentioned. Please choose the OziExplorer radio button, download the file, unzip the contents and load the .plt file into OziExplorer. You will find, this is ONE plot section. You can then load the waypoint .wpt file into OziExplorer to see all the waypoints.

Hope this helps.

Hi Damian

Tried that method and did produce a single file of 6000+ points.

This still requires to be broken into a few parts for Garmin type GPS downloading , but this saves a huge amount of work in joining up all the little tracks sections.

Thank you.
