I have the older version 4.3" Hema navigator whcih is now showing a "Fatal Application Error" when I choose either the 4WD or Street Nav. The 4WD application shows only the world map. Rightly or wrongly I have tried the reset button to no avail.
Any suggestions?

I had the same thing happen with
mine. It took 2 attempts to get it right by pressing and holding the reset button in for over 4 seconds. Although im guessing you have already tried holding the reset button in for a period of time.
I believe that for errors like that happening, Hema will replace it if it is still in warranty, i personally know of at least 1 person that had his replaced with the new series model.

Hi Mal
If you go to GPSOZ.freeforums.org there is a section for HEMA Navigators that answers all questions about them including some about Fatal errors

Hi guys.
I purchased an early model Hema Navigator in May 2009. Took it on a top end trip in August 2009. It failed after 5 days just North of Ailce Springs - the screen locked up. I contacted Hema in Queensland, and they sent me a loan unit to
Katherine in NT, which was great, and I used that one until I got
home early September 2009.
They ended up replacing the whole GPS in Sept 2009. The second unit has just failed, after very little use - a software problem, I think. My local dealer in Geelong is sending it back to Hema.
I'm not very impressed, I have to say. Spent $900 to get a very unreliable piece of equipment. Hopefully the replacement, if I get one, will be the updated model, and have better reliability.

Had similar experience last year. Unit 1 failed, unit 2 failed, unit 3 (loan unit worked) and was returned and exchanged for a 5" model in February.
If you can get a new 5" model, I think you would be pleased with it. It is a lot better unit.
