Hello,my local member of parlament wants to sell telstra. On chatting with her it seems she believes that sat phones work absolutely everywhere no worries and mobile coverage is great in the bush, and cdma is the best thing available, and VB is free north of
birdsville ,I wish have given her my experiences re the above including that sat phones have problems under trees, cdma doesnt work on east coast etc.
Anyone have any polite comments re telstra service,or not , failures, non coverage etc.that can be passed on to city based polly.
All help appreciated

Mobile phones are great IF you're near to a town or city.
I just turn
mine off when driving around WA. There is NO coverage between towns. Stayed out about 15 kms north of
Meekatharra last week and only JUST managed to get a signal and only IF I held the phone at the right angle and didnt move a muscle. Still it dropped out three times!
Its a CDMA and I have had better range with it than the old GSM I had. I would NEVER rely on it for any form of communication! Heaps of the smaller towns in WA still seem to have the GSM tower up in town, but there's no CDMA coverage.
Selling Telstra will probably mean that we end up with no coverage in the bush, to few people and not enough profit. You dont see too many towns with Vodaphone or any of the other carriers in country WA.
