From DEC today -
The Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) would like to notify all Operators operating in the
Mitchell Plateau area that an aerial animal pest control program will be undertaken around the
Mitchell Plateau area in late May.
For the safety of all visitors and personnel, Lawley River National Park, Laterite Conservation Park and
Camp Creek Conservation Park will be closed to the public for the period of operations.
Closures to the Parks will take effect from the 20 May 2010 and continue through to the 26 May 2010.
The
Mitchell River National Park
campground and recreational walk trails to Mertens Falls and the
Mitchell Falls will remain open however remote area bushwalking in
Mitchell Falls National Park will be prohibited during this time.
Surveyors
Pool may be closed periodically during the control program and signs will be placed at
Mitchell River National park
campground accordingly to notify the public and commercial operators of this temporary closure.
