Hi all, I have a Goldstream wind up camper van, love it, and was wondering if anyone has ideas on storage of these. Currently it is in our watertight garage semi wound up & open to the air, the thinking being that this would stop it from getting musty/mouldy. Unfortunately this does take up considerable space, does anyone have any idea if storing these vans in the wound down state can cause any problems?
Thanks, Styeve

When I had my camper trailer all I did was dry it out thouroughly when I got home by erecting the tent on a nice hot day then closing it up and leaving it till the next trip.

It was always fresh and clean, free of spiders and other things that may have invaded it otherwise.

I can't see why it wouldn't work with your Goldstream.

Same here Notso,
I used to have a Jayco Eagle and all I did was make sure it was dry then pack it up till next time. It used to spend Tassie winters out in the backyard without any problems.

We store our camper trailer in a shed too. As said make sure it is dry and no food left inside not even crumbs.

I spray underneath and around the tyres with a surface spray to deter ants and spiders.

As others have said, dry it and clean it out of food etc. i also place a small timber block about 1 cm thick next to each of the lifter uprights so when the roof comes down it sits just above the top of the door making it easy to get in and out whenever i need to while its down so i dont need to wind it up. i also take weight off winch by backing it off once the roof sits on those timber blocks....

Thanks to all respondents, seems like it'll be getting folded down after the Queens birthday long weekend beside the Bellinger River.
