UDA Upholstry Distributors Australia.... just google them. They should have a counter sales office in Adeliade. You can also buy by credit card over the phone.

there are two types of zips,, Spirial and Chunky. They will ask you which one. If you can take the old one this is better. I would go for spiral and spray it with Selleys easy glide (not a cheaper silicone spray as these leave residue that attracts dust) then work the zip about 20 times before installing it. Gets things working. Spray every month if using or before storing if not using it.

You could try Sarmajor canvas at St.Mary's. They replaced a heavy duty zipper on my tourer tent recently. Cheers Phil.

Mullyman
Thanks I may try them first as I am south and the previous post suggestion is out the other side of town. I am hoping to just buy the zip as I have someone lined up to replace it.

I had a zipper on a tent replaced by Hall's Canvas Goods?
60 Cottage Ln, Hackham SA 5163
(08) 8384 3117?
I have also had some canvas work done on my camper trailer by Cameron Canvas?
38 O'Sullivan Beach Rd, Lonsdale SA 5160
(08) 8186 6666?
Would go back to either again.

If you just want to buy a zip, I think Nolan Shannon at Ridleyton would be the go.

Check that you actually need a new zip before replacing it.
Usually what happens is the actual slider wears and doesn't force the zipper halves together correctly so they don't lock. They are made of diecast so are relatively soft and wear isn't obvious.
If the zipper seems to work ok but then comes apart try twisting the slider sideways out of square with the zip as you do it up. If this fixes the problem then replace the slider and you will find it is ok.
Another temp fix is to remove the slider and place it on a hard surface and GENTLY tap the sides where the zip goes closer together. Only a short term fix though.

Hi Wizza,
Wormald Canvas at 4 Archimedes place, Golden Grove, 82887788,
They have always done a good job for me, they can supply only or fit the zip for you.
UDA on Cross Keys Road, Cavan are suppliers only, and they are good people to deal with also.
Regards Bob
