Camping areas in Mt Cole, Mt lonarch state forest

Hi guys
A couple of us are heading into the state forests around Mt Cole Mt Buangor over the QB weekend, really a shake down with 2 new rigs before we head north in a month. Have camped at Ditchfield Camping ground before. Wondering about ideas for other good camping areas in the forest. Other
places on the Topo maps are Forte Picnic ground, Lower Wimmera Picnic ground. We are self sufficient so don't need to have facilities so if anyone has ideas of good spot near a
dam or creek that OK.
any ideas appreciated

Hi, Mt Cole/Mt Buangor got very badly burnt just prior to
Easter this year by a controlled burn off that got out of hand. As far as I know Mt Buangor camping areas (eg Middle Creek) are closed but not sure if it is all closed. I would suggest you have a look at Parks Victoria site.

Hello,Chinamens picnic ground at Mt Cole is open and is a good spot to
camp,long drop
toilets,fire pits,and a
shelter with an open fire.A nearby 4WD track up the
hill is already closed and i expect others will be too.There are plenty of tracks up there to explore.
