Hi all.

Does anyone know of a fuel usage calculator that I can access on line.

I need something that I can enter my (intended) Kilos travelled, or what ever and it will tell me how many litres of fuel I will need.

The approx distance to be travelled (for the moment) will be 3287 Km.

I figure, if I travel 7 kilometers to the litre my calculation show 569 litre, but I am not sure if my figures are correct as it has been a VERY long time since I have made any such calculations.

Vaguely I remember seeing an on line calculator some where or other. Can anyone help here please and or with any other calculations?

Regards

Janset,

To travel 3287 km at 7 km per litre, you will need 470 litres. You need to divide 3287 by 7 to get this answer.

Firistly I do ot have a computer i my vehice.. so the best way I believe, is first you have to work out your fuel economy of your vehicle.....so say you have travelled 594 Ks (use your trip meter) and have used 66 litres so that is 9KPL or 11.11LP100 100 divided by 9. So the 9KPL is what you need to work out how many litres you need to do a certain distance.

Divide the Km travelled by the Litres used = Km/Litre mutiply that by 2.8247358 = MPG. Divide the Litres used by Km travelled & multiply the ressult by 100 = Litres/100Km. Once you know your consumption you mutiply that by the distance you wish to travel = how much fuel you will need allowing for heavy going in 4WD, headwinds, hills, etc. Us the calculator on your mobile phone. It even works when you are out of phone range

Thanks blown4by, that is what I eventually did do.

I haven't tried my mobile phone to calculate, I do not think I have a calculator on it as it is a very basic phone. Anyway, I always have a calculator in the troopie, just in case I need oine.
