HI all
I am trying to decide about purchasing one of these phones with the matching car kit and would like to hear from anyone with real experience's in the field. I have heard both good and bad reports but you have to try and make you way thru what is true and not true. I would only like to hear about this particular phone and not what else is on the market. I currently have the old Lg TU550 and is now only starting to have some issues.
Thanks in advance to anyone that my reply

By a carkit do you mean just a cradle with power or one with an external aerial.
A carkit normally doesnt have the aerial like an RFI 1925 which is a multiband and
is a good one

I have one of these phones ZTE T 165i with a car kit recently sold RFI antenna and cradle for $100 my personal thoughts on this phone is don't waste your money car kit useless phone been replaced by Telstra twice now this replacement is faulty won't turn on at all. Might as
well get a novelty phone from dollar sense at least I can enjoy the lollies out of it and then throw the phone casing out just as useful as a ZTE phone model T 165i.
I advised the buyer of phone kit but still wanted it.

I have this phone great reception with an external aerial & patch cable.
I don't use a craddle, just plug in the aerial & car power charger, uses a bit of power roaming.
I use a Blueant for hands free.

Frank,
ask all the Telstra reps to show you the actual phone they use, BEFORE they ask you what you want, that way you get to see what they use and you can be assured they do NOT use crappy phones.
If they city type ppl and NOT country reps ask where the country reps are and see their phones.

I use a 165i Telstra phone probably made in China. I also have an aerial (stick type) mounted on bullbar with cable inside of the vehicle which I plug into phone. I have only been to a few
places where there was no reception. I also have a latest model Nokia for city use....as useless as an ashtray on a motor bike out in the scrub.

Hi there I have the ZTE 90 with the complete Telstra Cradle and car kit -had Nokia 6120 with Nokia CK7w kit before.I was also not sure what to do when I needed to upgrade ,have got used to the phone ,and the car kit is okay I dont feel the sound is as good as the nokia car kit but feel that it is more due to the position where speaker has been mounted.Struggled to hear it ring, however changed ring tone on phone and is now okay.I wanted a kit that would charge phone and connect to external aerial and be "hands free"- was not much to choose from ,so I guess I am happy with the above.
