I have a 2005 auto diesel Pathfinder. 113K km on the clock. Shudders when gently accelerating around 80kph. What gives but it sounds expensive?
Does any one have experience with this situation?
Cheers

Oskar - I had a similar problem with my 2008 Navara D40 auto. Shudder when under load around the 80kph mark +/- 3 or 4 kph. Nissan replaced the torque converter under warranty and this fixed the problem. To check if this is the problem or not put the car under a slight uphill load - the shudder will happen with OD engaged but if you turn the OD off it won't happen.....at least that was what was happening with mine.

Thanks for the info. Trouble is that the car is five years old and only under a three month warranty. I've got it booked in for a tranny service and the guy said that they put some sort of additive in that MAY fix the problem.

I had a 2004 which started to shudded on 3 to 4 change around 60 kms on and off for a couple of weeks then let go in a big way and needed a total rebuild costing $3600,hope yours is not as serious, once fixed mine was great until 2 weeks later it was hit from behind and written off.If you are in Melb and after some near new Nissan mats and headlight/bonnet protectors let me know.

Hi.
My 03 auto patrol also started shuddering recently going into o/d.
I thought Nissan did an auto service on a major then find out after nearly seven years they don't, converter is now shuddering and a service hasn't quite fixed it.

Could you let me know what the additive is and if it makes any difference, I'm hoping for a cheap fix Atm.

I can add after the service which was done a month ago the auto in only the last week is shuddering less luckily.

Cheers wayne
