Does anybody have a recipe for bread making in a Weber Baby Q?
I have read the previous threads about
camp oven baking and have tried the Weber Australia web site for inspiration to no avail
We can't afford any more weight in the van& mostly we stay in van parks so a
camp oven is out
Many thanks

Peter
The main thing to consider in the Weber q is what size dish or tin will fit with the lid closed and allowing for the bread or damper to have enough room to "rise" when cooking.
Also you have to use the foil with a trivet on top to stop the base of the loaf burning.
I searched everywhere and finally found a perfect size tin in KMart!
But we also do bread rolls and loaves which are just laid on a baking tray or pizza stone, the pizza stone is also good for pizza's which are also great in the weber.
As for
recipes we just use the Lauke pre mix and mix by hand. we cover the tin with a damp cloth and allow to prove in the car, as it is usually nice and warm in there.
(Any bread recipe will do really as the weber is just like a heated oven.)
Then
cook in the weber as per instructions on the packet. I pre heat the weber first on high then turn down to about 1/3 setting for the cooking period.
They are also great for cooking scones and muffins !
Hope that helps.
