Hi all, on the weekend we were out camping i had the radio running most of the day & night i checked battery a couple of times it was fine however, when i went to bed the starting battery was dead so when i went to overide that battery i learnt that the deep cycle battery was dead also, there was no accessories running from that vehicle i only had radio on. I thought the system was working properly as i run fridge etc. Could anyone tell me what may of happened as i may have to re-wire the system. Thankyou.

Hi Matt
So the car radio was running off the main battery and it went flat.
... and the fridge was running off the aux battery and that was flat ?
I think you could expect them not to start the car if that is the case because the car radio works on acc. position and there are other electronics that drain power as
well as the radio in that position. The aux battery depending on when the car was last run would also be quite flat after a day and night running the fridge.
I would first
test the batteries to make sure they are serviceable and then
test the isolator to make sure it works as it should.
Perhaps fit a battery monitor too so you can watch the system, running a radio off the starting battery all day is a big no-no.
