ABR-Sidewinder 600W Pure sine inverter.

Hi,

i am looking for a Pure sine inverter to run drill, grinder and metal cutter plus the usual little things and would like to hear from anyone that has actually purchased the 600 Watt unit from ABR and your comments about quality and suitability.

Compared with the Projecta 600 W Pure sine the ABR unit is very cheap indeed but i am a bit concerned about quality.

Thanks , i appreciate any comments.

Thanks Mick,

i did see the previous thread but would like to know whether anyone actually bought one and has tried it , i know on face value the price looks good but if it is crap , well even the low price is too much.

If any of you actually has used one , p-ls. give me some feedback on the unit.

Thanks

Hi,

I just took delivery of the 1000w from Derek and so far been impressed. It's not the pure wave but does the trick for me...ran a toaster for testing and also some power tools without any problems.

I have purchased one but only just arrived so as yet I have not tried it out...not home for a few days and so cant test it .....and really see no need......Derek would have done all the QA issues long before he imported and offered them

as for quality all I can say is that from past experience everything I have ever purchased from ABR has always been both good value and quality........that includes items such as battery isolators.....battery chargers...etc

I purchased in confidence based on past experience with ABR and their equipment and I have no reason to belive that this inverter would be any different in my expectations that my previous experiences

no affliation etc.

cheers

Hi prado-wolf

Hand drill, small grinder all OK.

Metal cutter ? These normally run a large motor similar to a large grinder and run at high watts with a start up that may reach 3000W so check the specs of the equipment before choosing an inverter. Note that the watts stated on the equipment sticker may not be the start up wattage.

It sounds like you need something for metal work and the best would be a generator then you can run a welder too.

Regards

Derek

Hi Derek,

i am not talking about a big metal cut off wheel , just a handgrinder with a cutting wheel so same as a grinder.

Derek, the 600 W is a bit small , i would prefer 1000W but i was just interested if people actually have used your inverter because the price is very good , much cheaper then other brands and i just like to know whether it is cheap chinese crap or not.

I am interested in buying one but as you can see i am a bit scared that it might not hold up to it.

I know you got some good comments here so pls. dont take offense.

Looking forward to your comments.

Thanks

Hi prado-wolf,

I just ordered the 600w inverter from Derek, mainly to recharge things like the Makita cordless drill, Panasonic cold cut saw & reciprocating saw, as well as the mechquip cordless angle grinder & rattle gun that I take away with me.

With the amount of high quality cordless gear around these days, I don't see a need to take 240v stuff along!

BTW my last 300w inverter was a cheepie that I had for 6 years & still works, I just can't find it since I sold the old 80 series!!
