New Evakool Fridge/Freezer

Hullo All,

Have owned our converted Supakool to an Evakool since 1998 and today received a new 40 Ltr, I am not a Happy Chappy.

The lid and hinges are not straight, lid not sealing all way round, power lead connector will not accept the lead, instruction book looks used.

Sent heaps of emails to the company and they expect me to rectify. What does one do when living in another state ?

Don't think I will deal with them again and will not recommend.

Not sure whats going on there. We had the 80 ltr and were very happy. Couldn't fault there back up service either. Wonder if they have changed hands. Seems like it is getting harder and harder to get good service.

That certainly hasn't been my experience, great service and support always.Mine is 11 years old now and still runs like new.

Glad to hear. As I have said a number of times on here, our fridge was faultless on the road for 3 yrs and that was using it as fridge/freezer in some pretty high temps and some rough country. Keep up the good service.

Good stuff..I was about to stick up for Evakool too (I own two of them plus an Icemate box) but don't need to, they've done it for themselves...again!

Forgot to add, I've got a picture in my profile of our freezer temperature in Windjana Gorge 2008, 67.4 degrees difference between ambient! 45 degrees outside, just under -22 degrees inside.

I put some meat in one of them a few days ago for the dogs, turned it up to 10 and left it there. Checked last night and it was -26 degrees, with inside the house being 25 degrees. Not bad when I thought they maxed out at -18.

Mark you are right on ! what is there to bang on about ?
Read my original post where it says have owned a 47 ltr since 1998.
To me that's 13 years, with a conversion. Have not complained about it.
Have quoted a 40 ltr was purchased with faults.
As you can read in follow ups and a post from Evakool it's being replaced.
