Afternoon all, my membership is due for renewal & so is our existing Camps 3 book. EO are offering to renew membership for zilch provided you make a purchase of $75 from the shop, the alternative being simply pay the $50 renewal fee.

So, a couple of questions ref the three choices available of Camps 6.

The Camps Australia "perfect bound" versus the Spiral bound, both at $49.95. any advantage in one or the other? Our existing book is Spiral bound & seems sturdy enough. Mind you it has not been used as much as it should have been, LOL.

The third option is the "Camps Snaps Australia Wide @ $89.95 but it is in a B4 size which I think is pretty large? & maybe would be a bit cumbersome in the vehicle cabin.

Any comments would be appreciated

We found the spiral bound good cause it sits flat. The camps snaps book we thought was a bit mis leading at times as some times the photo only showed the best site not the average. It was a good guide but just cause there is grass in the photo don't expect it to be there when you get there. If you are planning some big trips over the next while go the camps snaps. If it's just for occassional use go the spiral bound.

It's on the personal membership renewal section of the EO shop. A good deal IMO :)

Thats right Daza, as Andrew mentioned it was included with my renewal notice & it is a very, very good deal in my opinion.

To bad you pair live in Qld, as I beleive the offer is to Blue Chip members only which of course includes all NSW members!! Bad luck fellahs, LOL & cheers

Yep ... renewed my membership too, under the Blue Chip renewal scheme. Maybe if Andrew askes politely, the EO team may decide to extend it into Qld for his next renewal.

Mmmm! Please stick to the topic young Kev, otherwise you might get moderated!! An evil part of my mind thought it only a matter of time until you were drawn out of your Cane Toad Pond. LOL

We have Camps 5 and bought the large one with pictures- it has been good and I'm glad for the site photos. It is fairly cumbersome though and we have to keep it in the back seat- it comes out when we are looking for a site for the evening.

Thanks Amy, I thought it might have been rather large. The idea of photos is appealing & I guess it would not be to much trouble to put it on the back seat to overcome lack of space around the front passenger area.

Actually you have just given me a bright idea!! It's my wife who does all the looking up of maps & caravan parks & free camps etc whilst on the move, so maybe the big one with pictures kept on the back seat & I can also politely (of course) ask my wife to move to the back seat as well? Seems like a plan to me!! Thanks for your info.

LOL! I wonder what my fiancee would say if I tried that on him. He is a good passenger though so it's probably for the best that he stays in the front seat. The book also fits under your passenger seat if you decide you want to keep your wife's company up front :)

We, the wife and I have noticed a decline in the quality of the paper between
editions of Camps 3 and Camps 5, both spiral bound.
Camps 5 started to tear around the spiral area with in 1 to 1.5 months,
no problems with Camps 3, still all good and used more than Camps 5.
We know there was an ownership changed between 3 and 5,
And Camps 5 has thinner paper, we where told it was due to overseas
printing?
Can any one shed more light on this, and are future copies doomed to the same problem?
