This is something to think about when you are traveling

A Mirror or a 2-Way Glass?

How can you tell when you are in a room, restroom,
Motel etc. With a mirror or a 2-way glass?

Here's how: I thought it was quite interesting! And I
Know in about 30 seconds you're going to do what I did
And find the nearest mirror.

Do you know how to determine if a mirror is 2-way or
Not? A policewoman who travels all over the US and
Gives seminars and techniques for businesswomen passed
This on.

When we visit toilets, bathrooms, hotel rooms,
Changing rooms, etc., how many of you know for sure
That the seemingly ordinary mirror hanging on the wall
Is a real mirror, or actually a 2-way mirror (I.e.,
They can see you, but you can't see them)? There have
Been many cases of people installing 2-way mirrors in
Female changing rooms . It is very difficult to
Positively identify the surface by looking at it.

So, how do we determine with any amount of certainty
What type of mirror we are looking at?

Just conduct this simple test: Place the tip of your
Fingernail against the reflective surface and if there
Is a GAP between your fingernail and the image of the
Nail, then it is GENUINE mirror.

However, if your Fingernail DIRECTLY TOUCHES the image of your nail,
Then BEWARE! IT IS A 2-WAY MIRROR!

"No Space, Leave the Place" So remember, every time
You see a mirror, do the "fingernail test." It doesn't
Cost you anything.

REMEMBER. No Space, Leave the Place:

Ladies: Share this with your girlfriends, sisters,
Daughters, etc.

Men: Share this with your wives, daughters,
Daughters-in-law, mothers, girlfriends and/or friends.

G'day Snoopyone

I didn't check out your Snopes link, but I too am tired of my email inbox being filled with these so called 'warnings'.

A little research before forwarding these scams/warnings/scaremongering would be appreciated by me, for sure!.

Cheers, Dave

Never pass on what you think may be good advice.

Someone will shoot you down.

From now one, my fingers will be on hold.

I will just read, not write.

Like for any "advice", if it is unsubstantiated then it is just a rumour or worse, malicious gossip. If you can't vouch for it don't bog the email service down blindly forwarding crud.

Well I wasnt trying to shoot you down but a little think when you get one of these goes a long way.

IE why would you install a two way mirror that presumably you have to sit behind to observe whats going on.

As well as that they wont come cheap.

This particular myth has been around since 1999.

These days the so inclined would buy a pinhole camera for $15 or so and hook it up to a computer and watch it later at their leisure.

You wouldn't even notice it and it would do what the evil one wanted.

Bookmark Snopes site its well worth while.

The snopes article says that this would work, although not particulary accurately.

Seems Esarby's warning may carry some merit snoopy

Thats because Snopes quote the message to give an opinion on it so its actually Snopes quoting the message not the other way around.

Most of the explanations on there are like that with all the different variations of myths and scams.

Something to think about......

Nothing in the real world has ever been rigorously proved, or ever will be. In the real world, we must deal with levels of certainty based on observed evidence. The more and better evidence we have for something, the more certainty we assign to it; when there is enough evidence, we label the something a fact, even though it still isn't 100% certain, or fully understood.

I leave you all to reflect on this
