Driving lights

G'day
I'm just after any experience of anyone that has had of the Narva Ulitima 225s driving lights. I have had the light force 170's on my triton, but am just looking at some different brands for the prado.
cheers

I have a set and think they are a very good light for the money, they will not give you the distance of the Lightforce (I don't think anything else does) but it will give you a much better spread
They rated as the best value for money from memory in the last 4wd action comparo.
I have since fitted a HID kit in mine and they are even better. would happily buy them again

I had the 170 light force lights and they were stuffed after 5 years ( the
lenses went black) I now have the narva 225 s and I think they are a lot stronger light. I have one spot and one spread but I would prefer 2 spots. I would say there would be minimal difference in output. I hope i get more life from the Narvas.

What caused the black lenses? Water, faulty wiring...I've had the 240 Blitz's for probably 10 years and a 140 Lance spotlight I use for shooting for 20 years - mine haven't changed colour and they certainly get used.

Mark.

I have no idea . They went like a black crome colour . still worked but not as good. I contacted light force and they didnt want to know about it. When I bought the lights I was told they have a life time replacement for faulty components. Hence the narvas now.

Yep, definitely amen to the Narva's. I had a set of 225's on mine until a big red wanted a piece and took them out. Replaced with Lightforce 240's and although a better distance, light wasn't quite as clear or wide (even post adjustment). And that's without bringing price into this! Wow Lightforce go for a mint.

I have the Ultima's on a 200 series & find them to be a good set of lights. One Spot & Spread. In retrospect should have went for 2 Spots as the 200's have a good high & low beam. In regard to distance I have a Lightforce SL 240 Blitz handheld spotlight for shooting & if you merge it into the beam of the Ultima's there is no difference that I can notice. Both brands of light are made from the same type of material. Should you decide on the Narva's make sure you get the latest type base (not toggle) which has the same setup as the Lightforce base. The problem with the basic 240's is that the lenses can be unscrewed & stolen quiete easily. I had a previous Lightforce 170 hand held spot that filled up with water overnight when left on a external gimbal. Much to Lightforce credit they replaced the light with no drama's. My new Narva's were moving on the toggle bases & Narva replaced the whole assemblies minus the lense's with the update which again is a credit to their side of things also. So both manufacture's stand behind their product & the ultimate choice is up to you & your pocket ! (The Narva's also come with a complete wiring harness).

I agree with the above comments.

I have two spread beams and am happy with them. They don't reach as far but in front and to the side of my truck are lit up nicely.
