I know this has at times been done to death performance chips, but your help from those mechanical minded would be of help. I have a 200 series Toyota diesel I have read a lot about the torque improvement. My question is does it provide the power down low in an auto so you do get better fuel economy and what does it do long term to the gear box diff axels etc.It is often so confusing all you read but does not all ways tell the full implications when you do after market alterations. I toe a 2.7 ton off-road van and while I am more than pleased with the standard performance of the 200 series I certainly would like to do a little better with fuel economy.
Thank you for any advice you may be able to share.

Hi Garry,
I have the Chipit chip in my 200 and it certainly helps the low down power and the slight turbo lag. However, I wouldn't say it helps economy that much, mainly because you tend to use the extra power. What I have found is that economy stays basically the same but you have more power.
Here is a link
LCOOL POST on the chipit I made on LCOOL, arguably the best web site for 200's. This particualr post gets a bit heated at times, but it certainly gives many perspectives :)
Cheers
