I am looking for a large fold up step for my Camper. I have one of those small gray folding ones you often see at Caravan Axccessory shops, and often called EZ step, and have looked at the Fiamma non folding step, but they are all about 210 - 220mm high leaving a big step up from there to the camper.

Is there such a thing as a decent, wide folding step that is about 300mm high?

TIA

Hi Boobook, You & me both. I had one of those plastic fold up steps....I think some outlets sell them for anywhere between $15 & $20 well mine just disinergrated causing injury to myself (minor). Apparently they are meant as a child's stool/step & not applicable for adults to stand on. Unfortunately no warnings on the one we bought so be careful if considering.

Just found the type you mentioned on E Bay & they are 22cm high & support up to 136kg....about 4 times more expensive than the one we bought probly explains the structral failure on ours!!! I use the strong milk crate...not only can I store thing in it but I use it for she who is gravity challenged to use as a step to adjust the awning or whatever..I put a cover on the base of it & use it as a portable table too.

We have an EZ FOLDZ step, made in USA, very strong, height 23cm opened. I can't remember where we bought ours but it wasn't from CAMEC and much cheaper than their prices. I think I recall a larger size also being available.

Gday
If you Google Bunnings, then go to , builders and renovaters , scrole down to se some foot steps that might just do the job.

Thanks Muzbry they are like ladders as far as I can see. I am just after a single step.

You could try calling Vista RV. They have a very substantial laser cut steel folding step, which I am sure that they would sell seperately.

I just got some of the blue ones from ebay from member vinracptyltd. They are rated to 150kg and are the only ones I could find that are @ 385mm high - perhaps too high for you.

Thanks Tim, I did see them but was worried that they were a bit unstable. Have it been ok.

It is 'well built' (doesn't seem like it will crumble under you), but it is quite tall for its footprint - fine on firm flat ground, but it would topple relatively easily if tipped on an angle due to its height.

Thanks Tim,

It looks like a tall version of the one I have which can be a bit unstable too.

I think I will keep looking.
