Hi All

Had a great weekend at Coopers Creek Vic with Murray & Betty R & Muzbry who was there for Saturday only. There were a group of young guys who
when packed up burnt their tent, bedding and left over food, smashed eggs
and dirty toilet paper left on the ground they also left the camp fire raging, we
wish that we had got their rego others in the campsite were disgusted just as we were.Image Could Not Be Found
Cheers

Such a shame that people like that end up ruining it for the rest. I love Coopers, but we found a few years ago now that as you can access it with a normal vehicle that more and more young and out of control people where camping there. Such a shame really as it is so pretty there. we drive through the river and keep going now as there are a few great camps further on. You just need a 4wd to access them.
If only everone was responssible and respectful of the area and we could all continue to enjoy it for many years to come

I have seen many campsites where they burn nothing, Just leave refuse for others to clean up. Food, old tyres, empty but broken bottles, food cans with scraps left in them to attract the flys and rats. Need I continue?

It's a shame to see this happening at campsites but, unfortunatley it is becoming more frequent. On our second last trip into Bendethera, we supplied photos, and rego numbers of vehicles involved and also some pics of the damage done to the park and also some ''çutting up'''' work that had been done.
The ranger got in contact with the persons of interest and all they did was deny it all, so then we were back to square one.
It seems that if unless the punishment is dealt out by fellow campers doing the right thing , then everyone's hands are tied these days.

cheers Unc

This and worse is standard behaviour for Coopers.

Parks Vic have recently released a media bulletin stating that fines for oversized fires, leaving fires alight etc...are now applicable. I think the fines are about $380. Sometime ago in the Vic High Country some idiots were videotaped digging up the flat land & damaging signs. The video was handed to Parks who sent a file to local police station. The owner of the vehicle & main offender was questioned & denied all involvement & knowledge of the incident that is until the copper played the video/disc & there was the offender bold as brass....the camera doesn't lie. He was convicted & fined a large some of money at the Mansfield court. The Victorian association of four wheel drive clubs has a hoon dob in page. It is completely anonymous. Some people don't like to get involved (make s/ments etc) that's their choice I suppose!!
