They say best laid plans come undone.
Our dog sitters have had to pull out a week before we head up north for a 2 week holiday, so we're now going to take our gorgeous lab with us :)
The first two nights heading up we're
free camping so she can stay with us, then we're in Broome/
Cape Leveque for 8 nights, so we'll (hopefully) get her in the
Broome Vet.
We're then heading back down and want to stay in Karijini for 2 or 3 days but having difficulty finding somewhere that isn't a Shire pound to put our girl.
Can anyone suggest some
places near Karijini (preferably not around Hedland as we want to head back to
Perth via the inland route).
If we can't find anywhere, we'll more than likely just skip Karijini this trip and
free camp down the coast with her :)
Cheers,
Jason.

The
Shire of Ashburton has kennelling facilities, (08) 9188 4444.
We had our little mutt with us when we visited Karijini for 2 days in 2007. We just bush camped off in the scrub o/s the NP leaving mutt with van for the day as we checked out
Dales Gorge end of the park.... 2nd day bush camped western end outisde NP and did
Weano Gorge end, leaving mutt with the van. On the way into
Weano Gorge did notice that a couple of campers with mutts ( as
well as a few without mutts) camped off to the north of theroad out to Oxer
Lookout, (where the road does a big right hand turn to the east) back then the road in actually goes out the north side of NP area for a few km's around 5km before Oxer
Lookout in the vicinity of that bend. If we'd known that would have taken van in and bush camped in there. We then stayed at
Tom Price for a week (park took dogs back then) as we checked out other areas.

Hi Jason
Not sure about dog boarding around Tomprice but make sure you take the dogs vaccination records with you as we had to get our Mandurah vet to send through records to
Broome for us .Not a big problem but we carry them now.
Cheers Stuart.

Gday Jason
Would also be worth your while to phone the Broom Vet and
check whether they will have room for your dog. Like a lot of
places in
Broome, the Vet also fills up during tourist season.
Cheers
Ray
