I have had a suspension lift with heavier springs and was wondering on a ute should the load proporting valve be reset.

It seams obvious that if the body of the ute is sitting 50mm higher then the valve would think it is unloaded and just lifting with braking so not allow much braking to the rear brakes. I feel I have noticed it harder to pull up now after the suspension lift.

If you have had a lift and adjusted the load proporting valve - how much did you reset it by. I note the length to adjust is barely 40mm max.

Cheers

David,
I replaced my suspension with a dobinsons 600kg kit
they gave me as part of the kit an extension arm ( about 100mm)for the LPV.
however I have only adjusted to the end of the standard arm and am happy with brakes with that setting.
I know that my canopy only weighs 400kg and that load is constant. fuel and water vary depending on the day but can add another 250 kg.
Brakes dont seem any different with variable fuel load.
cheers

Proprietary extensions are available, but for smaller lifts as above has mentioned, just wind the adjusting nut right out. You can also bend the rod a bit for a similar effect.
