Hi all. Just wanting to find out what is the best way to wash a van ie: Pressure washer, broom or sponge & elbow grease? Also has anyone used a "Patio" attachment on a pressure cleaner to clean a van?
Regards

Hi
Ross,
Best thing I found was CT18 Truck wash, spray it on with one of those pump up garden spray thingies, use a broom to rub/work it in (if you have to), leave it for a while, then hose off with a garden hose.
Repeat if find any
places you have missed.
Works a treat,
Cheers,
Dennis

Use a pressure washer underneath, chassis, wheel arches etc but not on the body.
It will do damage like blast off decals promote leaks at sealent joints.
Do what the other guys say, truck wash, broom and maybe a pack of microfibre cloths from Bunnings.

We use special mops/brooms from autosmart to wash cars /tracks etc . May be able to find one at a truck dealer. We do the outside of a car in a couple of mins.

Hi
Ross. I use a ladder, bucket, sponge and the hose. Takes a while but at least I feel it is done properly when finished.
Mine is 22ft and the amount of dirt that accumulates up top is phenominal. There are also solar panels, hatches and the ariel etc to wash over and around, not to mention the amount of bugs the front facing areas pick up when travelling so I guess I'm saying elbow grease. Cheers,Bob

Hi
Ross, I agree with the other comments in particular the cation on the pressure washers. During the water restrictions, remember those, I did use some of the waterless washing products. Spray on wipe off, which also includes a protective coating. The only issue it's a lot of elbow grease.
Cheers

Gooday,
As already quoted, CT18 or 20 Truck wash, I have just done a major clean on our 21 ft full caravan, was badly stained with beautiful red dust & bugs from the Great Central and the Tanami. I found the most successful on the roof was a broom or other type mop with a liberal amount of used pantyhose wrapped around it, let it dry and hose off.
On the other surfaces, (not windows) used a car wash brush and a bucket with CT20, then go over the section just completed with several pairs of Panty Hose formed into a ball, this will remove almost any grime, excluding Tar, (kerosene for that), then hose off. Did windows etc with panty hose, just the best thing. Also keep a ball of it in the Jeep for windscreen and windows, just the best thing for getting Bugs off without damaging the surface.
I could not believe the result on the caravan, fibreglass roof, front, and rear, aluminium sides. Just have to get some Autosol, as recommended here,[Image Could Not Be Foundi] and do the generator box on the drawbar.
If the photo appears the rest of the caravan looked like the side of the Drawbar before I washed it last week.
Cheers,
Boroma 604.

Give the kids ten dollars and have a beer while watching them wash it, using all the
tools etc as mentioned above.

Good evening all. Sorry for the delay in my reply, I have been spending the
Easter break in
Halls Gap without access to the net. Thanks to all those that have given me their tips on how to wash the van, I appreciate it a lot.
Regards
Ross
