HI,ALL.

Just would like to get some comments on a new set of Tyres for my 200 as we are going of road on our next trip, I have always had BFG and been very happy with them, but BFG don't do A/T for 18" wheels,
There must be people out driving off road, what are the tyres you have chosen and why. Comments appreciated.
Regards in anticipation Harry H .

Hi Harry,

I have BFG's on my 200 but my 2008 model has the 17" rims. Several 200 owners are buying genuine toyota steel 200 rims (~$140ea) and putting on LT tyres (muddies mostly) so having a "play" set and a "daily" set of tyres. 17" rims are the smallest that will fit a 200, but there are heaps of options in the 17" size compared to the 18".

Check out LCOOL.org and there are a heap of threads on this, plus a lot of info on the 200 in general. You do have to join (free) but well worth it IMHO.

Cheers

Captain

Hi, All.
Thanks to the Captain,Boobook,Lynch, Garrycol, and Alby for your comments and input on my question re 200 series tyresthat I require for my next venture to the outback, I've gone with buying a set of 17" Toyota steel rims from a Toyota dealer here in Victoria as he quoted them at $ 115.00 each then I can purchase the BFG tyres that i realy wanted, now i would like to know whether to purchase the All Terain or the Mud tyres once again your input appreciated.

I just priced a spare 17" alloy rim for my 200

A steal at $1500 each -even the service/spare parts manager was shocked.

I bought a 17" steel rim, same size/offset etc from Toyota for $125 , I am considering buying a complete set for my trip to the Kimberleys in July, just in case I damage an alloy

I use BFG all terrains, and will now need to buy a set of muddies,

I ahve always found the BFG's to be a good , reliable tyre

Harry,

BFG do do 18" ATs - I am looking at BFG AT KOs for my RRS - they are LT and cost about $500 each.
