Does anyone know whether this track is open to the public again; my maps says its not. Canpermission be obtained from the station. If it is, what is the condition likely to be given how much rain has fallen up north?

Simza - have a look at thread 85105 which asked the same question back in March 2011.

Hi simza,
Spoke to the rangers at Davenport National Park 2 days ago. Access to the park will be closed for months and so will the road to Epenarra. If the main roads are completely closed, so will that track although it is not open to the public anyway as it is private access only.
Massive damage to
infrastructure in that area due to record wet. I was told the roads, tracks to National Parks are a very low priority.
Col.

Hi Col, thanks for the latest info. Yes, not unexpected given how wet its been. We will just have to
check the situation when we get to that region and probably go in from the main road to
Davenport Range if that one is open and have a look coming hack to the Stuart Highway to head north. Its still 5 weeks till we get to Alice so will
check the status again then.
