Yesterday i went to the
post office to pick up our cameras. It turned out that my long shot of posting on forums about our stolen cameras paid off (you can see the thread
Site Link ) and via this
forum we were reunited with our cameras.
We now have them back in our caravan, in the same condition in which they left. So thank you to everyone for the kind thoughts, and I wanted to publicly thank and acknowledge Alison for her kindness and her efforts in tracking us down.
Amy

They were stolen, and then dumped near by. A husband and wife were 'noodling' and found them dumped down the bottom of an open-cut opal
mine. They were going to take them to the police station, but as the police station was closed they took them
home with them that night with the intention of going to the police the next day.
That night they googled different search terms to see if they could come up with anything about lost/stolen/missing cameras. My
original post here came up, and they contacted us. The policeman here in
Andamooka had a chat to her to see if there was any point in doing forensics to try and catch them (no point), and work out the best way of getting them back. They've since been returned by COD Aust. Post.
I'm just so pleased, and grateful.

+1 for
Kimba. It does restore your faith Even though the scumbags are in the minority they seem to dictate how we live.
Well done to the honest people who returned your cameras.
cheers
