The P3 or the Prodigy and heres how they work that makes them better
The Prodigy is a PROPORTIONAL controller and applies the force depending on how hard you hit the brakes.
Do it lightly, the van brakes lightly. Hit them hard the van brakes match the car.
The others including the Voyager and the Redarc arent, you dial up how much braking force you want and thats what you get regardless of how hard the car brakes are applied.
They also have a boost feature which allows you to set the van brakes to come on slightly ahead of the car whichis useful if van starts snaking.
Also have a manual lever for panic mode.

The Voyager is not as you describe it. The difference between the Voyager and the Prodigy is the Voyager uses the older pendulum style decelarometer. Once you have it set up the two controllers work much the same.
If you have a look at
http://www.tekonsha.com/content/default.aspx you will see that they no longer have the older timed controllers in their range. Hayes have 6 models and there is only one of those left that is of the timed style. With the majors getting away from those inefficient types, why has Redarc introduced one?
