Hi Macdrum,
That S series, I believe they are the Platinum series are a little harder to unlock.
First thing, your navman will use a little chip for data storage inside, this is a micro sd card. You will need to buy one of these as
well as a usb card reader. The card reader lets you use the micro card on the computer - ask someone at an electronics store they will guide you. Ask the chappy at the electronics store to give you a card with 2GB (space capacity).
Once you have got the gear ready you need to download the application from the miopocket website.
Plug in the micro SD card into computer using card reader and install the miopocket files into a folder on your card, the file must be called "S150".
You will then need to plug the navman into the computer, via a usb cable. open windows explorer.
To open windows explorer:
Go to bottom left :Start/All programes/Accessories/Windows explorer.
In windows explorer you will need to find you navman, this should come up as a drive or like a cd is in your pc. When you open it I would suggest backing up(copying all files) from the navman to your pc in case something goes wrong.
Then you need to search for a file called source.txt. Open it and it should read something like:
Created:
Software: MERMAID_405 6.00.0048
Map Data:NT_AU_0802_4014
Map Region:AU
Part Num: 565117210203R02
That line with MERMAID_405....needs to be replaced and type in s150.
so: Software: s150 (you dont need the numbers as above, only model of S150)
Then its just a matter of putting the micro SD card into the navman and starting it up, an auto unlock should take place and miopocket will open up.
If I have done to fast in areas and your are still stuck let me know.
Its all a little tricky but worth doing its a fantastic tool when done.
Tom
