Just wondering if anyone can give me some real life comments on towing with a CX-9. Have read all the car stat's and sales hype, but interested in what anyone who has really towed with this vehicle has to say. We have a big family and tow a 1200 kg (fully loaded) camper trailer. Time to upgrade the car and this is one of the options. Not looking for a real 4x4, more just a good people mover with power, and yes we do lots of camping and travelling.

Check if it has a space saver spare. I think they do. If your going anywhere out of town towing, not having a proper spare tyre would be a show stopper for me.

You could always carry a spare tyre with the camper, at only 1200KG the CX-9 would tow this easily. With 370nm of torque 1200KG's is not at the heavier end of things so the Mazda would be fine.

We have a CX-9 and love it. Takes a mountain of gear and great to drive on the black stuff.

We don't tow a trailer but reckon if we did, I'd get a Fleetcard - they're savage on the juice!

Just returned from our trip in our CX7 towing camper trailer, two adults, no kids, 5,500klm's.
No problems towing on bitumen or dirt road, sat on around 95-100k/hr, dependant on road conditions, 15.5L/100 K's.
On our trip around NSW we saw several CX9's towing caravans without too much back end sag.
Enjoy the trip.
