I'm interested to know where others are travelling to this winter.
We have been on the road since Feb this year. Started our trip from
Melbourne. We are currently in
Kununurra WA, just finished 10 days at the eastern end of the
Gibb River Rd just down as far as
El Questro &
Home Valley. Heading off to the Bungles tomorrow and hope to be in
Derby in a week to 10days time. We will store the van in
Derby for about a month and head back along the
Gibb River Rd to take in most that we can get in to. (Hopefully the
Mitchell Palteau will open in that time) but it doesn't look promising.
It seems the
Kimberley area is starting to get busy. Can't believe the amount of people who have checked into the Caravan park here in
Kununurra just in the last 2 days.
So if you are on the road at the moment where are you and what's the camping traffic like?
Safe travels everyone.

Curlynan,
There is a lot of information where travelling vanners are on the Caravaners
Forum. If you haven't seen that site, you might find it interesting, and you would get a range of answers to your question.
Enjoy the wonderful
Kimberley. It is a shame that you are unlikely to have access to
Kalumburu in the near future - but, hey, another year?
If the road in is open, I really recommend a trip in to Mornington - pleasant
camp area there and the gorges are excellent, as is the birdlife. Even better, your camping fees go to a very worthy cause in the Australian Wildlife Conservancy.
