I can recall that when we bought our camper I asked the salesman about the Tregg Hitch and was told that Tregg recon that the hitch is indestructable and should
mine get damaged and or fail the guys from Tregg would come out and replace it. Don't know if it was typical salesman talk or not. Might pay to give them a call if you can, Tregg Bros. are in
Adelaide.

Hi Allyson,
A friend of
mine had the same experience while the trailer was under warranty. A manufacturing fault in
the block caused it to split at the horizontal pin.
Rather than replace the hitch, the dealer chose to repair it. Stupid move. Labour costs in removing and replacing
the block far outweighed the cost of a simple replacement, and the finished job was pretty crappy.
I don't know what you ccan get in Barmaga, but if there's a replacement hitch available I would take it.
Cheers
Frank

Hi Allyson52
Just did a quick google search for you and came up with this company. Please be aware that I know nothing about them, but they have freecall from landline only. If you have to ring from your mobile, the website says to let them know , and they will ring you back, nice touch, I thought.
Other benefit (perhaps) is that they are in
Brisbane, so thats a bit better than having to order from
Adelaide, though they may not be genuine parts (doesn't say).
Have a look, 1/2 way down the page:
Tregg Poly Block
The following is a copy and paste from their
home page:
"For Web sales assistance please contact us by one of the following:-
FREEcall number 1800 338 358 Free from FIXED LAND LINE phones only. If phoning from a mobile please advise us and we will ring you back. If in doubt please
check with your carrier or ask us to ring you back.
Fax(07) 4696 1791
Email info@trailerwarehouse.com.au
TrailerWarehouse is a discount retail parts outlet for Trailer and Caravan spare parts."
END OF COPY AND PASTE
Hope this is of some help, a bugger being stuck with an unobtainable part!
Cheers, Dave

G'day Allyson
You probably have this number already, but last year we needed a bit of work done after taking advantage of free
parking in the
Pascoe River after three days of heavy rain at
Chili Beach, and used
Cape York Spares 07 40693507 in
Bamaga. They are the RACQ agent, and could not have been more helpful.
Cheers
John

i'd be highly surprised to find the part you want sitting there waiting for you on a shelf without ordering it and getting flown in first,
Bamaga isn't that big a place or
well stocked for specific items like that i reckon you'll find.
Weipa is also a good option to get parts overnighted into if your heading that way, i had a new fan for my cruiser flown in there when i broke a fin off on a water crossing. wasn't alot more expensive then getting one back
home either which surprised me pleasantly.
