I asked a Cooper sales rep if they are the ST rubber or the ST-C softer compound. I wanted to know this for longevity of the tyre. He didn't know!
Anyway I'd suggest you find the answer to that. I have a blend of ST and ST-C's in my garage depending on the trip (sharp rocks here in S.A up in the Flinders etc) and the ST-C's do wear faster. The ST just seems to go on forever in regards to wear but chip more.
I think in one of the 4wd magazines (about 6 months ago) review the BFGoodrich MT tyre won the comparision fairly easy (99% sure it was this one).

Agree Mickey T MTZ best tyre I has every had. Long wearing, not noisy on the highway and great in mud and sand

Hi Steve,
You haven't given enough info.
What vehicle do you have,
where are you going,
what type of country are you travelling in,
what type of trips do you do, short trips or long trips and how often,
are you towing,
are carrying heavy loads or light loads,
etc etc
That's why there are so many brands, so many opinions and huge price differences.
Sorry its not the answer you seek but hopefully the above will get you (and others with fixed ideas) thinking.

It's too hard to review and rate tyres in today's market. It only takes a couple of punctures on an outback trip to piss you off and never by that brand again and bag it out to all your mates, despite the fact you drove over a bunch of dry sticks with 40psi in your tyres. Just figure out if you want a mud, AT, or road and then find the best deal.
If tyres were falling apart regulary, you'd find a bunch of posts on here dissing that brand.

Know them, have used them and a few other leading brands and all have led me to the Toyo Open Country MT. You've failed to provide details as to what sort of travellling you intend doing but to my mind, if your budget can stretch a few extra dollars, go the Toyo.
