Thanks Toby, your info is much appreciated. Could you also advise if the crossing of the Calvert River is on this road or is it on the road heading towards the coast. If on main track could you please tell me approx what depth the water was when you crossed and condition of the crossing

Hi Kev the Calvert river is on the road between Borroloola and Doomagee on the Savannah way. The river will offer no challenge and the roads have been recentley graded and repaired. The depth of the river was roughly halfway up my tyres on my Nissan Patrol. For an up to date report on the road conditions up there try ringing the Doomagee roadhouse im sure they would be very helpful.

This is all relevant to us as well.

We plan to leave here in Darwin this coming Saturday, heading to Mataranka and then out on the Roper Highway to start the Savannah Way to Normanton.

We were advised by Borroloola police today that the road is open to high clearance vehicles at the Calvert River. It sounds all good so we are comfortable with the state of the road to get going soon.

Is anyone else likely to be on the Way while we are? Yell out if you see us - a gold coloured LC200 series and a Kedron van.
Chris
