I hope this is not repeated - it seemed to reject first time. This is the same thread as 70026 but I am not sure with archived items how to resurect them or find out how the problem was fixed.
Problem is 2003 100 series
hazard lights go on at random while parked and locked and will not go off. Car will start and run normally in which case
hazard lights go off and
hazard switch operates normally turning them on and off while engine running. As soon as ignition is turned off
hazard lights go on again either immediately or a few hours later. Only way to stop them is start the car or pull the fuze.
So i remove the hazard/indicator fuze while parked and reinsert it to drive.
Any clues from anyone as to what might be the problem?

I would post this on the LCOOL
forum which is the Landcruiser owners group. There is a wealth of knowledge there specific to your vehicle.
The link is

Thanks alistair and others. I joined LCOOL and got some good advice there which gave me a few clues. Eventually I fixed the
hazard light problem by reinsulating properly the wiring to my recently replaced bullbar indicator and
parking lights. Panel beaters had put some pretty ordinary insulation on these 4 wires each side and I think when it got wet some sort of short circuit must have occurred. It does not make sense to me as none of these wires are live while parked. However it has fixed the problem.
Cheers.

My son had the same problem in he,s 2010 Nissan navara D22 & he,s was a intermittent fault in the remote door opener/
hazard lights/emergency alarm & when giving the local auto electrician a lift by chance, it happened (Nissan never found fault) & he changed the sensor & solved it, Told me its quite common in Toyota's & in after market remotes which my sons was,as fitted by Nissan
Its a bastard when it happens
Hope this give you somewhere to start

Hi mate. I had the same problem with my 03 100 series. In the kick panel on drivers side there is some electronic components, cant for the life of me remember what is in there but auto sparky said there was moisture in there and a bit of corrosion had occured in an eletrical join. He cleaned it up for not much money. However, he said if it was the computer in there that was wet it would be about $3000 for a new one or about $600 for a second hand one. Im thinking a bit of water must have got in through roof rack bolts and ran down to that point. Hope this helps.
