Can anyone tell me where the turnoff is to the short cut..
I will be going up the Strez and do not want to miss it..
I know it comes out just before the yellow bus, but where is the turn off to get onto it travelling East..?

It's less than 1 km south of Strezlecki crossing.

Hi Chris,
The turnoff is at about 29deg South, just a couple of km before the Strzelecki Creek crossing and I think you will find a "Road Closed" sign at the shortcut entrance. Put there only to discourage use.
There are a couple of soft sand patches on the shortcut.

Cheers
Allan

3km south of Strezlecki Creek crossing and 250m North of the waterhole turn off to the west.

Chris Hi,
AS previously stated. Went through about a week ago, just be aware they are doing a lot of road works on that section. Possibly for mining surveys. A very plesant drive.

Chris Hi,
That question covers a lot of sins.
If the camper is reasonably "off" road that is well constructed and reasonable clearance - Yes.
Some of the roads leading to it would give it a fair shake though. AS always lower your tyre pressure AND speed. Above all enjoy your holiday, that is a very special part of this fabulous country.
Regards Mike.
