Hi All,

We will be in and around this area the first week of October, coming down from Birdsville.

Originally we were going to take Walkers Crossing to Innamincka, however due to its closure, now the Cordillo Downs route.

From Innamincka, we were hoping to go down the Bore Track to Cameron Corner, however, this is also closed.

Does anyone have a good suggestion for an alternative route?

I have looked at 2

1) Old Strezlecki Track, turning left and head straight for Cameron Corner
2) Out to the Dig Tree and around and back in to Cameron Corner

Note: We are fully self sufficient with 4X4

Cheers

Try going through the stations Epsilon and Omicron, they are on the maps. East out of Innaminka

Dicko,

There are a number of options for you.

I have done it via the Bore Track a couple of times and that would be my favourite route. I have also travelled via Nappa Merrie and down through Epsilon area to Tib. There was a turnoff to Cameron Corner about 80 or 90km north of the border. There are also a couple of others just south of the border.

All the roads are of a similar standard all are shown on good maps and while there are lots of tracks it is possible to safely navigate your way south. The main track is pretty clear.

It is a pretty run, probably not as much fun to drive as the Bore Track but it is worth a look.

Check road conditions with the locals and everyone you meet. I have never driven through that area without coming across a road crew. They should know what is going on.

Thanks everyone,

Looks like Epsilon is the way to go.

Do I need to contact anyone to get through these stations or just follow the maps and leave the gates how I found them, if there are any?

Cheers
