road from dubbo to orange and down through cowra

Can anyone give me any information on the road from Dubbo to Ophir (camping and prospecting there) and then through Cowra to the Newell Highway

From
Orange to Cowra and to Forbes on the newell the road is fine. The first bit from
Orange to Canownindra is the worst, a bit narrow and rough in
places but all bitumen. If you don't have to go through Cowra the direct route from
Orange to Forbes along the Escort Way is better.
