Hi all,,
I have a 35lt Waeco fridge, has been a great fridge and kept alot beers cold over the years , The problem I have is that when I went to use it the other day it stopped working. When I turn it on now it makes a clicking noise from the compressor and the error light flashs very fast. Any ideas what could be wrong with it

If you do a " Google" search for Waeco error lights you will probably find your answer...or close to it...cheers

Waeco error light codes

1 flash every 5 seconds- Low voltage - check wiring and battery.
2 flashes every 5 seconds-Fan overload - check fan is not jammed.
3 flashes every 5 seconds-Motor start error - leave off for 10 minutes then restart.
4 flashes every 5 seconds-Low motor speed - Call service agent or WAECO service.
5 flashes every 5 seconds-Thermal cut-out - Check for blocked ventilation

Have the same fridge with the same problem...it is over 5 years old and was bought as a second.

I have found that if you leave it plugged into the wall and turned on, BUT OFF at the fridge for around half an hour then turn it on at the fridge itself, it will go. It has the same problem on 12 volt as well. Once it goes it is fine and only seems to have the problem if I store it for a while.

I think it must have some electrical resistance somewhere eg. a capacitor that takes a while to get enough energy to help start the compressor?

Obviously I'm no electrician but this works for me and has done for 2 years now.
